SUNDAY, JULY 22nd, 9:50 AM
Come to the Spiritual Life Center to receive your Mission Trip t-shirt
(If you cannot make it to Mass, you will receive your t-shirt on the trip!)


SUNDAY, JULY 22nd, 10:30 AM
Missionary Commissioning Mass at St. Peter Catholic Church
Please come to this mass with your family.


FRIDAY, JULY 27th, 4-6 PM
Come to St. Peter Church
Help is needed to load up our U-Haul truck with the clothes donations and our Mission supplies! Many hands make light work! 
Please show up to help so that we can get back home quickly and spend an enjoyable last night with our families!


SATURDAY, JULY 28th, 6:15 AM
Be at the St. Peter Spiritual Life Center by 6:15 am!
DO NOT BE LATE!
Check in at the check-in desk so we know you are there.
Put all luggage in the cargo van.
Place all your donations (paint brushes, paint rollers, snacks and waters) in the proper place.
Wait patiently for instructions.
AGAIN, DO NOT BE LATE!!!


SATURDAY, AUGUST 4th, 5:00 - 7:00 PM
We plan to arrive back in Greenville as early as 5:00 pm, but could be as late as 7 pm.
Parents, please leave this block of time open so you will be available to pick up your children when we return.  We will keep you posted.



SUNDAY, AUGUST 5th, 12:10 PM
Please plan to attend this mass so we can all be together in thanksgiving for our awesome trip and in service to our Loving Lord.

Optional:  In the past, many of the kids have gone to Moe's after mass to all be together one last time.

Packing for the Mission Trip



What you NEED to bring on the Mission Trip

CLOTHES*
            Work clothes for 5 days
            Casual clothes for the evenings
            Swim suit (please practice modesty) and a beach towel
            Rain Gear (we will work rain or shine!)
                       
SHOES
            Work shoes must be hard-soled and closed toe for ALL work jobs
            (Athletic shoes are ok)
            Flip flops not allowed while working, but can be worn during the evenings
            Non-worksite shoes (these are needed to keep the Retreat House clean)

WORKSITE SUPPLIES
            Work gloves
            2 -3 paintbrushes (2” or 3” in size)
            3 – 6 pack of paint rollers

FOOD/DRINKS (to be shared during the week)
            1 pack of individually wrapped snacks (chips, cookies, crackers, etc)
            1 case of bottled waters or Gatorades

TOILETRIES
            Toothbrush/toothpaste
            Shampoo/conditioner
            Soap/Deodorant
            Shower Shoes

SLEEP AIDS (write your name on masking tape to label these)
            Pillow (mainly for the car ride)
            Small fan

MISC ITEMS
            Bug Spray/Sunscreen
            Sunglasses/Hat
            Spending money**

RELIGIOUS ITEMS (Come prepared to dive deeper into your faith)
            Rosary
            Bible
            Spiritual Reading
            Journal
            A positive attitude (it may be needed to encourage one another)
            A spirit of service (we are building God’s kingdom on earth!)



*Rules on Clothing: We expect all participants to be respectful of their own and others' bodies . . . and to adhere to our modesty guidelines:
            No tank tops.  Shirts must cover your shoulders and chest.
            No short shorts . . . they must be modest in length.
            Do not bring shirts with images/words that could be offensive to others.
            Keep in mind we are spending a week in a monastery!
            Girls swimsuits: be modest! A dark t-shirt over the swimsuit is required when we are at Holy Family.
            Boys swimsuits: no speedos!

**Spending money is needed for fast food on the way to and from Pittsburgh and for a periodic soda/drink during the week.  Your child may also want spending money for the Pirates game on Sunday and for Kennywood on Wednesday (however, the Kennywood tickets DO include dinner).  There will not be any shopping during the trip, but your child’s team may make a stop at the downtown Pittsburgh Goodwill for a t-shirt or two.

Weapons
Lighters
Magazines
Anything that may distract you or others from the mission experience

Sleeping bags
Sheets
Blankets (each room will provide sheets/blankets/pillow)

Clothing Donations Needed


WHO:      You, your family or your friends

WHAT:        New or gently used clothes and shoes are needed
                           (Please clean and fold the clothes and put them in a bag)


WHERE:  Bring your donations to St. Peter Church, Lisa Shepherd's office
                           2700 E 4th Street

WHEN:       Monday - Thursday, 9:00 am - 12:00 pm
                           July 25th is the deadline

WHY:           To benefit the Dirty Vagabond community in Steubenville, Ohio


On Friday, August 3rd, we have planned with Karen Reynolds (President of Dirty Vagabond Ministries) a Group mission day block party.  Karen welcomes us into her mission based community and looks forward to our teens gathering with her teens for hotdogs, face painting, a bounce house, a concert of praise and worship, a clothes give away and much more.
